Learn

Education is very important and a university degree will open many doors. Some choose a specific field like Marine Conservation, but if you’re not sure what you want to do yet, choose a broader field like biology – and specialise later.

Volunteer

Offer to work at a local animal shelter, zoo or aquarium. It may seem tough at first, but this experience will make you stand out.

Network

Most areas have local animal or biology clubs – these are a great place to meet people. Who knows? You might even meet a future boss.

Persevere

Animal-related fields are very competitive. Don’t give up.

Passion

Enter this field because of your love for animals. If you’re doing it for fame or money - you’re in the wrong place.
